GlenDronach Port Wood Finish is a Highland single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration. It was first matured in European oak, then finished in ruby and tawny Port casks from Portugal, a departure from the distillery's usual sherry style.
On the nose there are ripe plum, baked cherry, raspberry preserves and a touch of toasted oak. The palate is rounded, with strawberry jam, sultana, gingerbread and dark chocolate over a base of malt. The finish is long and fruity, with spice, cocoa and wine-soaked wood.
