GlenDronach – Port Wood (70cl)

GlenDronach Port Wood is a single malt inspired by the port that was imported into Scotland in casks during the 19th century. The distillery was established in 1826 by James Allardice, in a period when both sherry and port were in fashion. The nose offers bramble and strawberry, with cherry blossom and honeysuckle above sandalwood and ginger. On the palate come blackberry, roasted apple crumble and fresh gingerbread, then baked orange and black cherry. The finish is sultana and cherry cake, lingering into dark fruit.
