GlenDronach – Port Wood

GlenDronach Port Wood is a Highland single malt that begins in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and then spends a further three years in Port pipes from Portugal's Douro Valley. It takes its inspiration from the 19th-century trade in Portuguese port casks that reached Scotland. The Port casks add fruit richness to the distillery's sherried character and give the whisky a deep cherry wood colour. On the palate there are ripe berries, dark cherries, red fruits and warming spice, alongside rich sherry sweetness and subtle oak. The finish is long and lingering.
