GlenDronach – Port Wood (46%)

A GlenDronach single malt finished in port casks and bottled at 46%. It was inspired by the 19th-century trade in port, when casks of it travelled from Portugal down the River Douro to the cellars of Scotland's nobility. The whisky spent a further three years in casks chosen from the Douro valley, and the master blender combined the results. The nose is rich and fruity, with ripe berries and port. The palate is full and fruity, with layers of ripe berries and a complex sweetness. The finish is long and lingering, ending on fruit.
