GlenDronach The Venetian Room – Sherry & Amarone Wine Cask Matured – House Editions (70cl, 46%)

The Venetian Room is a House Edition Highland single malt from GlenDronach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky is matured in sherry casks and in Amarone wine casks. The sherry casks bring the rich, full style associated with the distillery, while the Amarone casks add ripe red fruit and a winey depth. The nose offers dark cherries, blackcurrants and sweet dates, with cocoa, tiramisu, amaretti biscuits and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full, soft and rich, with honeyed red plums, maraschino cherries and almond liqueur.
