Glenglassaugh – 12 Years Old (70cl, 45%)

Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery dates from 1875, and this is an age-stated bottling in its core range. The whisky is unpeated and matured in bourbon, sherry and ex-red wine casks. The nose is sweet, with peach and red fruit, walnut, vanilla, flowers, burnt caramel, sandalwood and a light sea breeze. The palate has an oily texture, with cherry, dates, caramel, nuts and chocolate, and a salty note returns. The finish is medium in length, with pistachio, chocolate and pear.
