Glenglassaugh – Sandend Single Malt Scotch (70cl, 50.5%)

Glenglassaugh Sandend is a Highland single malt from the Banffshire coast, bottled at 50.5% in a 700ml bottle. The distillery sits between the village of Sandend and the town of Portsoy, which gives the whisky its name. It is matured in three types of cask: bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry casks and manzanilla sherry casks. The manzanilla casks add a dry, saline note. Tasting notes describe buttery vanilla, honey, pineapple, peach and sea salt on the nose. The palate offers salted caramel, cherry, grapefruit, apricot and pound cake, and the finish is long, with spice, dark chocolate and citrus zest.
