Glenglassaugh – Portsoy (70cl, 49.1%)

Glenglassaugh Portsoy is a heavily peated Highland single malt without an age statement, matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks. It is bottled at 49.1% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour, and its deep amber shade is natural. The name refers to the neighbouring harbour village of Portsoy. It is one of the three bottlings with which Glenglassaugh reset its core range in 2023. The nose shows pronounced maritime notes, tropical fruit, dark soy sauce, sherry, liquorice and seaweed. The palate is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, fermented soy, charred mango, dark sugar syrup and a touch of sea salt. The finish is medium in length and smoky, with a little oak.
