Glenglassaugh – Portsoy (70cl, 49.1%)

Portsoy is a peated single malt from Glenglassaugh, bottled at 49.1% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the distillery's new core range and takes its name from the village of Portsoy, close to the distillery. The whisky was matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, and has a maritime character alongside the peat smoke. Bonfire and barbecue smoke lead the nose, with sweet and dried fruit, liquorice, chocolate and seaweed. The palate opens with honey and mango before smoke, chocolate, soy sauce, spice and aniseed arrive. The finish is of medium length, sweet, smoky and fruity.
