Glenkinchie Distillers Edition is a Lowland single malt bottled at 43% ABV. It starts from the Glenkinchie 12 Year Old and is given a second maturation in Amontillado sherry casks.
The finish in Spanish casks adds nuttiness and spice, while the whisky keeps its fresh, lightly fruity character. Each bottle carries the batch year and the name of the casks used.
The nose brings honey, vanilla and malt with apricot, hazelnut and a little sherry. On the palate it is honeyed and smooth, with toffee, apple, peach and light spice, then almond, raisin and oak. The finish is long and soft, with malty sweetness, almonds and a hint of orange peel.
