Glenkinchie – Distillers Edition (43%)

Glenkinchie Distillers Edition is a Lowland single malt bottled at 43%. It matured for 12 years in bourbon casks, then spent a few months in Amontillado sherry casks. The malt is unpeated and fermented twice, once for around 60 hours and once for 110 hours. After double distillation in lantern-shaped stills, the vapours are condensed in a cast iron coil rather than a modern condenser. The Amontillado finish adds a fruity richness.
