Glenlivet 13 Year Old First Fill American Oak is a Speyside single malt matured for 13 years entirely in first-fill American oak casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle and was originally intended for the French market.
The American oak gives a fruity, sweet character. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose has caramel and vanilla with fruity and floral notes, a hint of almond and nutmeg. The palate is soft and velvety, with vanilla, coconut and orange, plus pear and buttered toast. The finish is medium in length and warming, with light spice, vanilla and nuts.
