A Speyside single malt from Glenlivet, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled on 30 January 1976 and spent 45 years in a refill sherry hogshead before bottling on 15 November 2021.
The whisky comes from a single cask, with 266 bottles filled at 43.1% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers citrus, dark fruit cake, creamy butterscotch, cinnamon and liquorice. On the palate, tobacco, raisins and white pepper join stewed plums and walnuts. The finish is very long, with toasted notes and a fresh touch of garden mint.
