Glenlossie – 10 Year Old Flora & Fauna (43%)

This is a ten-year-old single malt from Glenlossie, a Speyside distillery near Elgin founded in 1876. It belongs to the Flora & Fauna series, which bottles whisky from lesser-known distilleries, and it is bottled at 43%. The nose begins winey, with biscuit and fresh plum and kiwi. With water it opens to a fruit salad of orange, apple, plum and pear, with coconut milk and a hint of sweet tobacco. The palate is sweet and balanced with a pleasant acidity, and shows a very light hint of smoke with water. The finish is dry, with light chocolate and a slightly malty aftertaste.
