Glenmorangie – 13 Years Old Cognac Cask Finish (46%)

This is a 13 year old Glenmorangie single malt, matured in American white oak bourbon casks and then finished in selected Cognac casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV. Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden had long wanted to combine the soft character of Cognac with Glenmorangie's fruity style. French oak risked overpowering it, so he chose casks that had been filled many times to keep the influence of the wood light. The notes are of spice and leather alongside Glenmorangie's fruit, with cloves, paprika and a trace of leather, and a long, elegant finish.
