This is a 16-year-old Glenmorangie from the northern Highlands, distilled in the tallest stills in the country. It matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in sweet wine casks, with Sauternes and Moscatel shaping its floral character. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose offers juicy apricot and sweet wine, warm brioche and creamy vanilla, with toasted almonds and chestnut behind. The palate is syrupy, with baked apricots, sweet raisins, spice and roasted chestnut. The finish brings lively citrus and golden honeycomb.
