The Nectar is a 16 year old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon and sweet white wine casks.
The nose is rich and heady, with baked brioche, baked apricot, vanilla pudding, toasted almond, chestnuts and hints of chocolate truffle. With water, caramel sweetness, orange syrup and a stony minerality appear, with a herbal note like sage or basil.
The palate is unctuous, with a balance of lemon, then vanilla custard, raisin bread, roasted chestnuts, nutmeg and star anise. The finish is long, with lemon peel, baked bread and a touch of honeycomb.
