The Infinita is Glenmorangie's 18-year-old Highland single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It spent 15 years in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak. Part of the whisky then had a further three years in Oloroso sherry casks before the two parts were married again.
The citrus and floral side of the distillery remains, with figs, nuts and orange marmalade adding depth.
The nose combines spiced, caramelised citrus with honey, jasmine, daffodil and honeysuckle, then raisins, nuts, crème brûlée and vanilla. The palate is silky, lightly oily and full, with grapefruit, orange, honey and creamy malt before syrupy hazelnut and walnut. The finish is long, pairing dried fruit sweetness with dry Oloroso notes.
