Glenmorangie – 18 Year Old The Infinita (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie The Infinita is an 18 year old Highland single malt, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It was previously sold as Extremely Rare and has since been given a new presentation, with the whisky itself unchanged. Bill Lumsden is the master distiller behind it. The whisky spends 15 years in first and second fill ex-bourbon oak casks. Thirty per cent is then moved to Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry casks for three more years, and the two parts are married. The nose is crystallised honey, caramel and caramelised orange with jasmine and lemon blossom. Figs, orange marmalade, soft honey and spiced wood follow on the palate, and the finish is slow and warm, sweet then dry.
