Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices is a limited edition single malt from Tain in the Highlands, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Whisky first matured in bourbon casks was finished for the first time in four cask types: Moroccan red wine casks of French oak, new charred oak, scraped and toasted red wine casks, and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Dr Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald created it, taking the aromas of a spice market as their inspiration. It is not chill-filtered.
Rose, jasmine and lilac meet cumin, saffron and chilli on the nose, while the palate pairs ginger and black pepper with mint toffee and demerara sugar. Clove and leather linger in a long, spicy finish.
