This is a Glenmorangie Distillery Manager's Choice, a Highland single malt selected by the distillery manager. It was distilled on 14 May 1981, matured for 17 years and bottled on 24 March 1998 at a cask strength of 54.5% ABV. Just 322 bottles were filled, in 70cl size.
The nose is rich, with sherried fruit, raisins, dates and figs, and a gentle oak influence. The palate is full-bodied, with big sherry fruit and sweet, spicy notes. The finish is long and warming, with lingering oak and dried fruit.
