Milsean is the seventh release in the Glenmorangie Private Edition series, a Highland single malt bottled at 46% and non-chill-filtered. The name is Scots Gaelic for 'sweet things', and the whisky was designed to recall an old-fashioned sweet shop.
It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in re-toasted Portuguese red-wine casks, which give it a rose-gold colour.
The nose brings strawberry bonbons, raspberry sherbet, candied citrus peel and vanilla fudge, with rosewater and honeysuckle above. The palate is sweet and spiced, with strawberry jam, toffee apple and ginger. The finish is medium to long, with candied orange and oak spice.
