Glenmorangie The Lasanta 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle. Its name comes from the Gaelic word for warmth and passion.
The whisky spends ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then two further years finishing in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts.
The nose has warm spices, golden raisins and honeyed nuts, with chocolate-covered sultanas and a little citrus zest. The palate moves from sweet sherry and fruitcake to caramel, butterscotch and toasted almonds, with orange peel and ginger. The finish is long and warm, with spiced orange, dark chocolate and a gentle nuttiness.
