A 15 year old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. For this edition the distillery chose bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and extended the maturation from twelve to 15 years. Dr Bill Lumsden and master blender Gillian Macdonald were involved in the reworking.
The nose is rich and spicy, with mead, honeycomb and walnut over a hint of charcoal. The palate is spicy, with Brazil nuts in toffee, molasses, cinnamon and clove, and leather, oak tannin and dark chocolate behind. The finish is long, with bitter orange marmalade, dates and dark sugar syrup.
