Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban is a 14 year old single malt from the Highland distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It matures first in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then spends an extended finishing period in ruby port pipes from Portugal.
The port finish is described as adding dark fruit, chocolate and subtle spice to the vanilla and citrus from the bourbon casks.
The nose is dark chocolate and mint with orange zest and a hint of sandalwood. The palate has walnuts, black pepper, raspberries and nutmeg. The finish is long and dry, with dark chocolate, orange zest and spicy warmth.
