Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve is a Highland single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It brings together three kinds of cask: ex-bourbon barrels, new charred oak and casks that once held rye whiskey. Master Blender Gillian Macdonald uses the bourbon and new oak to bring out the fruity sweetness of the Highland spirit, while the rye casks add savoury notes and a little spice.
The nose is rich and fruity, with tropical notes, pear, vanilla and candied orange peel. The palate is creamy, with crème brûlée, fudge and maple syrup, and the finish is sweet and spicy, with a dense texture that is almost chewy.
