An 11 year old Glenrothes single malt, bottled by Gordon & Macphail in its Discovery range and matured in an ex-sherry cask. The range draws on single malts from well-regarded Scottish distilleries. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers Seville orange, cinnamon and clove, with stewed red berries, plum, cherry and a touch of milk chocolate. The palate is creamy, then cracked black pepper, dark forest fruits and warming spice, with orange marmalade coming forward and roasted walnut leading to toasted oak. The finish is long, with lingering chocolate and orange.
