A single malt from Glenrothes, distilled in 1973 and bottled at 27 years old at 43% ABV. It is pale amber in colour.
The nose is rounded, nutty and malty, with walnuts, walnut liqueur, praline and baked pears topped with caramel. Peony and fresh vanilla come through later.
The palate is sweet without being sugary, with praline, fudge, caramel and honey, then apricot and Mirabelle jam, apple pie, quince jelly and a peppery edge. Dried ginger, vanilla and Turkish delight follow. The finish is medium long, with soft pepper and a little nutmeg.
