Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, matured for a minimum of 12 years and bottled at 40%. The distillery was founded in 1879.
The maturation is mainly in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez in Spain, and the spirit is distilled twice in tall copper stills.
The nose combines banana, vanilla custard, lemon zest and a little coconut. On the palate there are cinnamon, malt, vanilla pods and orange peel, with gentle oak. The finish is of medium length, with sweet spices, dried fruit and a light oakiness.
