This is a 13-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenrothes, finished in an Oloroso sherry hogshead and bottled by The Whisky Cellar for its Private Cellars Selection. It comes from cask 4135, which gave 170 bottles at a cask strength of 50.1%, and it is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
On the nose, cinnamon, chocolate mint and a little nutmeg sit with dried fruit, especially dates and figs. The palate brings roasted orange peel and pepper, with toffee, vanilla and a light nuttiness. The long, warming finish carries dark chocolate, sherry, a little oak and lingering spice.
