This is a 16 year old Glenrothes single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2009 and matured in a first fill sherry cask. It was bottled in 2025 in a 70cl bottle as a UK exclusive in Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range, one of 302 bottles released for the independent bottler's 130th anniversary.
The nose is fragrant fruitcake with raspberry and cinnamon, then citrus zest, butterscotch and hazelnuts. On the palate, stewed apples and raisins sit with demerara sugar, followed by blackberries, aniseed and toasted oak. The finish is full and long, with forest fruits and spice.
