This is an 18-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenrothes, bottled at 43%. It has matured entirely in sherry-seasoned oak casks, with a high proportion of first-fill casks.
The nose is orange oil, vanilla pods and ripe pear, with a little almond and dried ginger. On the palate come juicy pear, sweet vanilla and a hint of rose petal, with ginger spice and light oak. The finish is long, with sweetness moving into spicy warmth and a light touch of pepper.
