This is a 47 year old Glenrothes, laid down in 1974 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail on 22 December 2021 for its Private Collection. It matured in a refill sherry hogshead, cask 9973, and was bottled at 45.5% ABV. The outturn was 126 bottles.
The Glenrothes distillery was built in 1878 on the edge of Rothes, in the heart of Speyside. The bottle comes in a ribbed decanter with oak and a certificate of authenticity.
