This is a Speyside single malt from Glenrothes, distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2021 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Connoisseurs Choice range. It spent 32 years in a refill American hogshead and comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 57.9%. At Glenrothes new spirit is filled to cask at a higher strength than the industry standard, averaging near 69% against the 63.5% used by most Scottish distilleries. The nose is rich vanilla and pear with a hint of honey. Sweet tropical fruit on the palate leads to grapefruit and mixed nuts, and the medium-bodied finish keeps a lingering pineapple note.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
