This is a 24 year old Glenrothes from Speyside, bottled by Thompson Bros at 48.9% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1997 and bottled in March 2023, after maturing in a refill hogshead. Only 269 bottles were filled.
The label is based on a piece of artwork by KMG.
The nose is of damp hay, fruit salad, melon, honey and lemonade, with a slight sulphur edge. On the palate come shortbread, tangy boiled sweets, breaded chicken and a touch of white pepper. The finish is peppery, intense and long, with confectionery notes.
