A 31-year-old Speyside single malt from Elixir Distillers, released in the Single Malts of Scotland Marriage of Casks series. It combines two casks, a hogshead and a sherry butt, filled in 1989 and 1990 respectively. It was bottled in 2022 at 53.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 560 bottles produced. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers blackcurrant jam, leather, raisins, sticky dates, maraschino cherries, malt bread and dark chocolate. The palate brings stewed plum, charcoal, glazed cherries, gentle oak spice, liquorice, ginger cake and crystallised ginger, and the finish is long.
