Glenrothes – 2007 16 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask 17602003 (70cl, 62.7%)

This is a single cask 16 year old Glenrothes from Speyside, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. It is bottled at 62.7% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration. The whisky comes from a single refill sherry butt that yielded 648 bottles. Glenrothes fills its casks at full strength rather than reducing the new make to the usual 63.5%. The nose has autumnal spices, stewed fruit and sweet honey. The palate brings Morello cherry, peanut brittle and tart raspberry. The medium-bodied finish carries oak and toasted almonds.
