This Glenrothes is a single malt from Speyside, distilled on 30 November 2011 and matured for 14 years in a single bourbon hogshead. Claxton's chose the cask for its Warehouse No.1 series and bottled 375 bottles at a cask strength of 57.8%, in 70cl bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines vanilla, honey and toffee with ripe figs and orange peel, and a hint of cinnamon and oak. On the palate, sweet toffee and juicy apple meet lively orange, with fine oak spice. The long finish carries honey, toffee and orange, with a touch of white pepper and soft oak.
