This Glenrothes is a single cask Speyside single malt, distilled in August 2012 and bottled in June 2024 after eleven years in an Oloroso sherry cask, number 6364. It was bottled for The Whisky Cellar's Private Cellars Selection, giving 326 bottles at 57.5%, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose has intense orange marmalade, roasted almonds and dark syrup, with soft spice and sweet chocolate. On the palate it is full and intense: ripe and candied orange, maple syrup, almond, dried fruit and nuts, with cigar tobacco and black pepper set against a light oak note. The finish is long, fruity and sweet with clear peppery spice, soft and warm.
