Glenrothes Maker's Cut (70cl, 48.8%)

Maker's Cut is a Speyside single malt from Glenrothes, part of the Soleo Collection, bottled at 48.8% in a 70cl bottle without an age statement. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion chose both the casks and the bottling strength. The whole maturation took place in oak casks previously seasoned with sherry, each used for the first time to mature whisky. The malt is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is resinous, with candied citrus peel and fresh oak. The palate is rich and spicy, with creamy vanilla and orange peel. The finish is long and fruity, with orange peel and a touch of nutmeg.
