Glenrothes Peated Cask Reserve is a single malt that grew out of the distillery's early link with the Islay Distillery Co, an association struck in 1887. Whisky from the 1992 vintage was given a short stay in a cask from Islay. The time was kept brief so that the cask added a touch of peat smoke without overpowering the character of the whisky. It is the first release of its kind from the distillery.
