Glentauchers – 1979 Gordon & MacPhail 100 Years Production Anniversary Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (1998) (70cl, 40%)

A Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Glentauchers, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1998 by Gordon & MacPhail at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It commemorates 100 years of production at the distillery, where malting began in May 1898 and the first spirit ran from the stills the following month. It is an independent bottling in the Gordon & MacPhail house label style, which the company began creating for each distillery in the 1980s. The nose offers vanilla, Seville orange, fried banana, baked apples and pineapple. The palate shows red apple, poached pears, roasted cashew nuts and grapefruit, with toasted oak and white pepper throughout.
