A 30 year old Linkwood from the Connoisseur's Choice range of Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled on 31 May 1993, matured in a first fill sherry puncheon and bottled on 10 April 2024 at 49.2% ABV. The outturn was 531 bottles, and the whisky is a mahogany colour.
The nose opens with rich orange peel, then hazelnut, cinnamon raisins and vanilla fudge, leading to toasted oak. On the palate come stewed fruits with treacle toffee, apple and raspberry compote and soft aniseed. The finish is medium-bodied, with lingering Morello cherry.
