This is a single cask Caol Ila from Islay, distilled in 2007 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes from cask 311966 and is bottled at 59.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is led by coastal peat smoke, with sea spray, lemon zest and toasted barley. On the palate, citrus peel and salted caramel sit alongside sweet malt and cracked black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, saltiness and dry oak spice.
