This is a Caol Ila distilled in 2010 and bottled at 45% ABV in Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range. The spirit matured in the bottler's own casks.
A year's finish in ex-Sassicaia wine casks followed the main maturation.
The nose is Medjool date with sweet cured meats and pineapple. The palate brings stewed red berries, demerara sugar and lemon zest. The finish is medium-bodied and spicy, with lingering citrus peel and bonfire embers.
