Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels Linkwood 2001 is a Speyside single malt from cask 17603603, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2001 and matured for over two decades in a first-fill sherry butt.
The nose has ripe orchard fruit, vanilla pod and honeyed cereal, with dried figs and cinnamon from the sherry wood. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with stewed apples, milk chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is long and balanced, with a touch of oak tannin and lingering sweet maltiness.
