This is a 25 year old Speyside single malt from Linkwood, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It belongs to the Distillery Labels range, which honours the long partnership between the independent bottler and the distillery.
The whisky is matured in refill sherry casks. A fresh, floral character is set against baked apple, cinnamon, fruitcake and roasted hazelnut.
The nose combines baked apple, stewed raisin and cinnamon with sweet liquorice, light floral notes and polished oak. The palate is sweet and spicy, with date, prune, raisin and warming pepper, plus blackcurrant, cherry jam and candied citrus. The finish is long, with a nutty edge balancing lingering oak.
