Gordon & MacPhail MacPhail's 50 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for five decades in oak casks made to the independent bottler's own specifications. It belongs to the MacPhail's Range, and the distillery that produced it is not named.
The character combines mature sherry influences with rich dried fruit, chocolate and spice.
The nose offers stewed dark fruits, warm cinnamon, milk chocolate and demerara sugar, with cigar box, beeswax polish and aged leather. The palate has vibrant orange, black pepper and sweet dried tobacco, with hints of apple and spice. The finish is long, full and balanced, with spice and oak.
