First-fill sherry puncheon
This is a 72 year old Milton from 1949, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 48.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in cask 383, a first-fill sherry puncheon filled especially for the bottler, and the outturn is 180 bottles. The name Milton is the distillery's original one, given by its founder George Taylor, and this bottling pays homage to it. Sherry sits alongside vanilla pod and Seville orange on the nose, with stewed forest fruit, festive spice and soft lemon zest. The palate moves from butterscotch to bright citrus and nutmeg, then baked apple, poached pear and honeycomb. The finish is long, with lingering apple, dark toffee and a little smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
