Green River Kentucky Straight Rye is a rye whiskey from Green River Distilling, distilled and matured in Kentucky from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Maturation in charred oak barrels gives it a deep auburn colour that darkens towards mahogany.
The nose is orange peel and vanilla, with graham cracker and spearmint underneath. The palate leads with black pepper and spearmint, sweetened by vanilla and caramelised sugar. The finish carries lingering rye spice, herbal tea and a little soft oak.
